“We want people to be proud of what they wear, and be proud of where they are from.”
Two lifelong friends and U.S. veterans, KC and Nick, started American Built Clothing as a hobby in 2011. They grew up together playing little league baseball and football and graduated to the Navy and Marines after high school.
Nick trained to become a Marine sniper — a dream he followed since the ninth grade.
After three deployments — two to Japan and one to Iraq — he was wounded in service and received a Purple Heart. Nick healed and went through sniper school, advanced sniper training but his injuries hampered his skill set. He received an honorary discharge and returned to his hometown of Pocatello, Idaho to be with family.
KC reunited with Nick, and they took on the business featuring American Apparel and Royal Apparel—making sure every inch of the company is American-made.
Nick said. “We are operating at a higher level in 2016 with more inventory, new designs, new contracts starting January 1st, and we will be touring all over the Midwest. We started at the bottom with nothing, so there is only one way we can go from there, and that is UP.”
